For thirteen years, the Syrian American Club existed without a permanent facility in which to have its members gather, and after some time of renting and scouting locations, its members began to dream of building their own unique center.
Through the generous donations of many Syrian American Club members, and the fundraising efforts of its Board of Directors, the AlSham Cultural and Community Center opened its doors to the community in 2005.
The Club boasts a beautiful entryway with a Damascene fountain, a full kitchen, two classrooms in which language lessons are currently taught, a library stocked with several computers and an array of books, a large gathering hall, and an outdoor patio and children’s playground.
The Club is often open for social gatherings, and the space can be rented by members for birthday parties and other such occasions.
